BREAKDOWN OF GOODS TRANSPORTED

1. General Cargo / Dry Goods

Description: Non-perishable items packed in boxes, crates, or on pallets, such as clothing, furniture, and electronics.
Transport Modes: Primarily handled via trucks for regional shipping and container ships for international trade. 

2. Bulk Cargo

Description: Unpackaged, loose materials like sand, gravel, coal, crude oil, and agricultural grains.
Transport Modes: Moved by bulk carrier shipsrailcars, and tanker trucks

3. Perishable Goods

Description: Items with a limited shelf life that require temperature control, including fresh produce, meat, dairy, pharmaceuticals, and floral arrangements. 

Transport Modes: Transported using refrigerated trucks (“reefers”), specialized reefer cargo ships, and fast air freight for time-sensitive pharmaceuticals. 

4. Hazardous Materials (Hazmat)

Description: Unpackaged, loose materials like sand, gravel, coal, crude oil, and agricultural grains.
Transport Modes: Moved by bulk carrier shipsrailcars, and tanker trucks

5. High-Value and Fragile Cargo

Description: Dangerous goods that pose a safety risk, such as explosives, flammable liquids, radioactive materials, toxic substances, and lithium batteries. 

Transport Modes: Highly regulated shipping using specialized tanker trucks and dedicated cargo vessels equipped to handle dangerous materials safely.
